Ian Temple has served as Executive Chairman to Hydrogen since its formation and is a member of the Nomination Committee. He worked for Computer Team Group from 1994 where he became General Manager for the South of England and subsequently PSD Group as a recruitment consultant. In 1997, Ian set up Finance Professionals with Chris Cole. He is Chairman of the Inner East London Board of the charity Young Enterprise & is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Tim Smeaton has served as Hydrogen’s Chief Executive Office since August 2008 having previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer. He worked for Computer Team Group from 1994 where he became Sales Director for the South of England. Tim co-founded Project Partners in 2000.
Martyn Phillips has been a Non-Executive Director of Hydrogen since its formation in 2005. He is chair of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Audit and Nomination Committees. Martyn is Operations and HR Director of B&Q and is CIPD qualified. Martyn brings a clients’ view to the company as well as a wealth of experience in the HR and management arenas.
Ishbel Macpherson was appointed to the Hydrogen Board in July 2006. She currently chairs the Audit and Nomination Committees and is a member of the Remuneration Committee. Ishbel has over 20 years of investment banking experience where she specialised in UK mid market corporate finance. Her most recent role was Head of UK Mid-Market Corporate Finance for Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, prior to which she was Head of UK Small Cap Corporate Finance for ABN AMRO. She is currently the Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of Speedy Hire plc and a Non-Executive Director of GAME Group plc, Dignity plc and May Gurney Integrated Services plc.
John joined Hydrogen in February 2007 and was appointed to the Board in March 2010, following over 20 years in a number of different finance roles at BP plc. During that time, John gained extensive experience in business management and control, change management, process reengineering and global systems implementation. John is a Chartered Accountant, and has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham.
Dan graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 1996. He worked for 2 years as an Insurance Broker before moving into IT Recruitment for Computer Team Group, where he managed their Financial Markets Permanent desk. Dan is a co-founder and Director of the Partners Group which was launched in 2000. He has direct responsibility for international business development for Hydrogen Group and manages the Group’s external relationships with key clients.
Daniel started with Project Partners in April 2003. After demonstrating excellent performance within his niche area of Business Transformation specialists, he progressed his career and was promoted to manager of the major accounts division in 2007. He was responsible for the development and management of Project Partners major accounts function within Financial Services. Daniel was instrumental in the development of Norwich Union, with whom we placed over 630 contractors over 5 years, Barclays Group with whom we are a top 3 supplier, and more recently Lloyds Banking Group, where we currently have over 280 contractors onsite.
Experienced in managing large account teams within Financial Services, specialising in providing a cost effective, process driven service, he has made sure that Project Partners have remained a top 3 supplier to all of the accounts with which we work. Daniel was made Director of Contract for Project Partners in October 2009, and is now a member of the leadership board. Daniel also acts as an Account Director for some of Hydrogen’s major clients across other brands.
Rory joined Hydrogen in 2009 as Director of Project Partners’ permanent division. With 15 years recruitment experience with The JM Group Ltd and Harvey Nash plc, Rory is well placed to drive forward the division’s growth strategy and further build upon its success. Rory is a natural and inspirational leader with extensive experience in achieving optimum and consistent performance levels within sales teams, whilst driving change and innovation.
Steve joined the Group in April 2005 as Manager of Commerce Partners’ Permanent division before being promoted to Director 18 months later. Since June 2008 he has been responsible for building and developing Hydrogen's brands and business areas across Europe. Prior to joining the Group, Steve had 8 years experience of both permanent and contract recruitment within the commerce and public sector arenas, 3 years of which was in a management role. Steve was educated at Leeds University where he completed a combined studies degree.
Simon started with Project Partners in July 2000 to proactively develop the Project Partners Contracts Team within the business. After building a strong portfolio of blue chip clients, Project Partners quickly became known as a leading brand within technical, project and change professionals space. Simon progressed to Sales Manager in 2004 and in 2006 assumed overall responsibility for Project Partners, growing it to over 50 recruitment professionals covering mainland Europe and the UK. When Hydrogen Group PLC was created, Simon was promoted to Managing Director and is a member of the executive board. Simon is currently responsible for Darwin Park, Hydrogen’s Oil & Gas and Power offering.
Andrea has 14 years’ marketing experience within the business services sector, including key roles within Datamonitor, Reuters Business Insight and Emap. She joined the Group to head up the marketing function in 2002 and was promoted to Director in 2004. Andrea is responsible for marketing, communications and HR across the Group.
Ivan graduated from Salford University with a degree in Business Management. After 2 years spent working at ABN Amro he joined Finance Professionals in 1999. Ivan was instrumental in building Finance Professionals' banking team into a market-leading business, and was promoted to Director. After an internal move in 2004 he became responsible for building the strategy that allowed Law Professionals to become one of the largest legal recruiters in London and a key international player. He is additionally responsible for HR Professionals, whose focus on performance-driven HR experts has helped create a highly specialised recruiter.
Abigail Waudby joined Hydrogen in 2007, initially running the UK’s permanent Business Transformation and Technology team before setting up our first office in Asia. Abigail has managed large FS and non-FS PSL accounts, in addition to the staffing for Integration programmes globally. She has extensive experience in major account management and developing teams that deliver high quality solutions in very competitive time frames.
