Becky has successfully built a career which draws on great interpersonal skills as well as her interest in the world of finance. She manages the contract investment banking division which is currently around 15 strong. Working with around 20 clients within the investment banking sector, the division has only been going for 18 months but is likely to have 100 contractors by the end of 2011.

Becky's degree focused on financial services which remains a subject that she has a real passion for. Rather than work for a financial institution, Becky chose to work in finance recruitment. She interviewed with four large recruitment consultancies and chose Hydrogen because she preferred the more relaxed culture and wanted the strong training and development offering. "I immediately sensed that I could make a difference" she remembers, "I was promised the chance to carve my own career path and that's exactly what I've done."

Becky joined Hydrogen as a researcher in June 2006, straight from Kings College London where she achieved a 2:1 in Business Management. Within a year she was managing the Barclays Group account and, under her guidance, this underperforming account was transformed and Hydrogen became one of their top three suppliers with over 70 contractors on site. Two years ago Becky was challenged with setting up a contract investment banking division from scratch. After six months of researching and market mapping, the new division began to bill and has gone from strength to strength. "This division is, without a doubt, my biggest achievement" she reflects.

Becky really enjoys the corporate entertainment side of her job and loves the fact that she works in the city with some the best banking firms in the world. "I really feel like my career is limitless and have watched Hydrogen adapt to market conditions which makes me feel that I'm in safe hands. The fact that we're becoming more international is great; opportunities overseas are not relevant to me at the moment but who knows what the future holds?"

Becky has watched Hydrogen grow organically and really appreciates the continued support as she climbs up the ranks, "Managing people is a whole new area for me. It takes up around 30% of my time and is something that I needed to know how to do well and Hydrogen has supported me unconditionally. I get support from all levels and I'm always encouraged to share a problem".

Asked what she has learnt during her time with Hydrogen, she says, "I've grown up, become independent and learned to believe in myself. This is a 'work hard play hard' company - you get out what you put in."
