A mid-sized, North Sea Oil & Gas focused operator contacted us to complete a market mapping exercise. They were looking to buy an asset that would result in an immediate asset team build in a city where they had minimal presence. They needed to understand the talent available in the local market and the associated costs in the form of salary benchmarking.
Our solution:
We agreed to map five peer operators with similar asset portfolios and within each, a specific asset team. This created a detailed candidate map, outlining the available skillsets, levels of experience and regional knowledge across each subsurface discipline.
We also spoke to each candidate to clarify their motivations, career aspirations and salary expectations, highlighting those we believed would move within the operator’s timescales and who were within their salary bandings.
The outcome:
45 suitable candidates were mapped within three weeks
The senior management team were able to make informed decisions on the potential acquisition with up-to-date costs and realistic timeframes in mind
