Sponsorship opportunities available
We have partnered with the top-tier firm Allens to grow their Tier 1 Projects practice across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Sponsorship opportunities and relocation packages are available for overseas lawyers and they are also very keen to speak to Australian or New Zealand qualified lawyers, who are considering relocating to Australia from overseas.
Allens is a leading international law firm with a proud 200-year heritage of shaping the future for their clients, their people and the communities in which they work. They have been privileged to contribute to extraordinary social change over their history, helping shape a more just, equitable, and sustainable community.
Allens and Linklaters have a global alliance to better serve clients, with a network of 40 offices in 28 countries. The network offers an integrated service, giving clients one point of contact and a unified team comprising the best resources of each firm in Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South America and the US.
With Allens, you'll work at the cutting edge of the law on the most complex and innovative deals in the market. You'll work with lawyers and professionals at the top of their game who, like you, strive to get a little better every day.
You'll have the privilege of advising clients from almost every sector, from government and healthcare through to infrastructure, media and banking and you'll be supported to take your career wherever you want it to go.
Allens have achieved 17 elite Band 1 rankings in Australia and had 31 recognised practices in the Chambers Asia Pacific results. The Australian Financial Review and Boss Magazine has named Allens in its Most Innovative Companies List (2017 - 2021) and as the highest ranked law firm in Australia and New Zealand (2019, 2020, 2021).
The Projects Practice
Allens' Projects practice is Tier 1 (Legal500 Asia Pacific 2022), recently winning Infrastructure & Projects deal of the Year - North East Link PPP (Australasian Law Awards 2022). The team prides themselves on offering a broad scope of work and team members work across all Partners nationally, rather than being siloed with just one or two Partners in one location. This offers their people exposure to all areas and the opportunity to develop their skills broadly, before starting to specialise as they progress to a more senior level.
We are looking for experienced Projects lawyers with 4+ years of experience, including those at Senior Associate level, who are interested in relocating to Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to join Allens' Tier 1 Projects practice, where you will work with clients throughout the full lifecycle of their projects, from origination to construction and development, to operation and end of life.
In joining Allens, you will receive unparalleled learning and development opportunities. You will be challenged, supported and guided as you learn and develop, and will be encouraged to grow. They foster greatness, and will coach and support you to meet your goals and aspirations.
The Projects team has a well-established and vibrant partnership, providing genuine scope for growth. They have a collaborative culture and operate with a one team approach.
Flexibility matters at Allens, so if you are seeking hybrid working or are looking for flexibility in your work, we would be happy to discuss what arrangements would work best for you.
Allens culture is made up of unique backgrounds and varying life experiences - each individual has their own story to tell. They celebrate people's differences across gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, cultural backgrounds, First Nations communities, and family and caring arrangements. We encourage applications from all passionate applicants.
What you'll bring:
· Experience obtained with a leading Projects practice within an international firm or top tier environment. Experience in an in-house legal team is also highly regarded.
· A willingness to participate in business development activities, such as pitch documents, firm-wide pursuits, article writing, attending industry events and hosting seminars.
· The ability to build an understanding of clients and develop effective working relationships.
· A willingness to develop others through mentoring and sharing experiences and networks.
Allens would be pleased to have conversations with those who are considering a move to Australia over a short or long term period.
