Company Overview: Our client is a leading fashion brand/FMCG business that is known for its innovative designs and cutting edge approach to fashion. They have a global presence and are committed to providing their customers with the highest quality products.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal advice to the business
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including franchising, supply, partnership, licensing, and distribution agreements
  • Manage and oversee the intellectual property portfolio
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including data protection and consumer protection
  • Oversee corporate governance matters, including board meetings, annual reports, and regulatory filings
  • Manage the legal aspects of real estate transactions (e.g. store leases)
  • Advise on any potential legal disputes and manage the resolution process
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external legal advisors and regulatory bodies
  • Manage and mentor a team of 3 direct reports, providing guidance and support as required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A qualified solicitor with 10+ years' post-qualification experience
  • Proven experience in a commercial-facing in-house role delivering on a diverse range of legal matters
  • Previous private practice experience from a top UK or international law firm would be desirable
  • Strong experience in commercial contracts and knowledge of relevant intellectual property laws are a must
  • Additional experience in areas such as corporate governance, real estate, and data protection would be a bonus
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team of legal professionals
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to provide strategic direction and manage change effectively
