Hydrogen are working with a leading international bank who are seeking a highly skilled and motivated legal counsel to join their team. As a Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for supporting the Retail, Wealth & Business Banking team with a particular focus on the Wealth division. The ideal candidate will have previous experience advising on wealth matters, including the UK regulatory framework for financial products such as MiFID II.


  • Provide legal support and advice to the bank's Wealth division, including the development and maintenance of products, services and processes.
  • Draft and review legal documentation, including contracts, agreements and policies.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues and provide advice to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including MiFID II, the FCA Handbook, and other relevant financial services legislation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business initiatives.
  • Work with external counsel on complex legal matters.


  • Admitted to practice as a solicitor in England & Wales with ideally 2-5 years PQE gained in-house or within private practice with strong academic credentials and experience in wealth management and/or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of the UK regulatory framework for financial products, including MiFID II.
  • Demonstrated experience providing legal advice and support to a wealth management division.
  • Excellent communication, drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide strategic legal advice to senior management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Knowledge of wealth products and services.
