Senior Accounting Manager

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Senior Accounting Manager to join our

client's biotech startup. In this role you'll lead the buildup of a high-performing financial

operation. You'll own both the finance and accounting functions, and you'll apply your insights

and strategy to grow the company. You'll be both strategic and hands-on, working closely with

the executive team. This is a fully onsite role.

Job Description

● Perform Accounts Payable function including receiving and processing invoices

● Maintain up-to-date accurate cash balances and prepare cash analysis

● Perform month-end closes by preparing accruals, recording journal entries and reconciling

general ledger accounts

● Support preparation and issuance of 1099's to necessary vendors (in collaboration with

contractor)

● Support preparation and filing of annual tax returns (in collaboration with contractor)

● Evaluate, identify and implement improvements to company financial systems and

processes that will scale with the organization

● Plan and execute departmental budgets

● Procurement

● Support fundraising efforts

● Develop, evaluate and report on company metrics to senior management

● Develop strategies to improve company metrics and performance

● Perform special projects as required and other duties as assigned

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements

● BS or BA (3-5+ years of industry experience)

● Good working knowledge of operational procedures and policies

● Strong project management and administrative management skills

● Hands-on biotech experience during a period of significant growth is strongly preferred

● Startup experience strongly preferred (or, demonstrated ability to roll up your sleeves)

● Experience leading the implementation of accounting and finance systems from the

ground up is strongly preferred

The estimated salary range is $100K - $150K. The finanal amount will depend on the indiviual's qualifcations.
