Senior Design Architect (network)

3 month rolling (3 year project)

£650-730/day (umbrella)

Remote/Reading (1 day every 2 weeks needed for workshops)

Responsibilities

- Acting as a technical design authority on B2B network projects

- Production of E2E Service HLDs for the 3 main connectivity services (Internet, L3 VPN, L2 VPN)

- Production of B2B Platform HLDs for each of the 3 main connectivity services

- Production of B2B Platform LLDs for each of the 3 main connectivity services

Experience:

  • Substantial experience in developing large-scale carrier network architectures and Business Services obtained either with a network operator or equipment supplier.
    - Substantial experience in technical ownership and development of solutions in a complex business environment.
    - Experience with Ethernet & MPLS based products - IPVPN, Ethernet VPN etc
    - Experience with Overlay technologies - IPSec VPN, SDWAN etc
    - Experience with routing protocols BGP, OSPF, ISIS, EVPN, Segment Routing
    - Experience developing and documenting platform-specific design and configurations (HLD / LLD etc) that align to requirements and the wider e2e solution context
    - Experience chairing technical meetings on complex topics, drive decisions and document the outcome
  • Telco experience useful or Internet service provider - if worked for large organisation
  • Structured and siloed
  • Understanding of network orchestration and associated technologies
    • Understanding of B2B-related BSS touchpoints
    • Experience of undertaking technology assessments
    • Basic understanding of financing and budgeting
    • Understanding of operational responsibilities relevant to B2B services
    • Understanding of the organisation structure within a typical service provider environment
