We have an exciting opportunity with a leading Renewables client for a Battery Storage Engineer!

This role will be an initial contract term of 12 months, and will be based in Juno Beach, FL.

Job Overview

  • Employees in this role have the responsibility of organizing, designing, and executing various energy storage projects. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, engineering oversight and consulting across cross functional teams to deliver a best in class product.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed design engineering of major components for large scale energy storage projects
  • Prepares technical scopes of work for incorporation into contract documents
  • Supports projects from conception through execution working closely with preconstruction and construction project managers
  • Influences project teams in the engineering aspects of the technical work
  • Maintains familiarity with the progress and problems in assigned technical areas
  • Collaborates with suppliers to successfully integrate major equipment
  • Collaborates with multi-disciplined teams for problem solving, improvement opportunities, and system integration and controls
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Identifies value engineering opportunities as well as emerging technologies prospects

Preferred Work Experience:

  • An SME in the Solar and/or Bulk Energy Storage Industry, with established expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Power electronics
    • Battery storage system design
    • Substation design
    • Generation tie design
  • Strong knowledge of technologies in energy storage including varying battery chemistries, power conversion units and DC/DC converters
  • Lithium ion battery storage safety: Familiarity with UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections
  • Shows maturity of technical expertise and assumes responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical/Mechanical from an ABET accredited program
  • 5+ years of proven engineering experience
