Job Title: Broadcast Engineer - Broadcast Infrastructure

Location: London /Hybrid

Day Rate: £500 p/d Via Umbrella

Duration: 6 months

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Broadcast Engineer to oversee and deliver a diverse range of projects within our Broadcast Infrastructure team. As a Broadcast Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and ensuring the successful implementation of projects, from design to fully supported operation. Your role will involve working across various aspects of our broadcast infrastructure, including content production, post-production, transmission, and delivery platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing broadcast technical solutions and seamlessly integrating them with existing systems on our broadcast platform.
  • Collaborating with design teams to develop technical designs for projects or integrations.
  • Engaging proactively with support and operational teams at the early stages of a project to ensure a smooth transition to a fully supported and operational state.
  • Maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders and project team members, ensuring regular updates and coordination.
  • Producing and updating comprehensive, high-quality documentation detailing the technical architecture, connectivity, system drawings, and cabling specifications for each project.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the technical aspects of broadcast television, including current requirements and emerging technologies. Knowledge of MPEG/DVB standards, IP, production, studio, video, audio, and control systems is essential.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work in all aspects of the job, including design, implementation, and documentation review.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to apply experience effectively to overcome technical challenges. This includes troubleshooting during system implementation and testing, as well as devising design changes for existing broadcast implementations.
  • Proficiency in using broadcast technical testing equipment and AutoCAD for technical schematic drawing.
  • Sound understanding of IT and networking principles to facilitate fault finding and issue resolution.
