Cloud Platform Engineer - 7 Month Contract

On-Site: Jersey Village, TX

Pay Rate: $74 - $80/hour


You will be responsible for improving Azure and AWS setups, covering tenants, subscriptions, landing zones, networking, security, and infrastructure. This means putting best practices and infrastructure as code (IaC) into action. The ideal requirement will have good leadership skills, hands-on experience with Azure and AWS, and strong written and verbal communication skills. It's also crucial to be familiar with on-premise Kubernetes clusters while handling cloud development tasks.


  • Apply best practices in cloud infrastructure, with a focus on enhancing Site Reliability, Observability, and Scalability.
  • Cultivate robust collaboration with diverse teams, including Product, DBAs, Developers, DevOps, SRE, and Data Engineers, to integrate AWS standard methodologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cost optimizations during the initial design phase.
  • Recognize and eliminate bottlenecks, address issues, and allocate support as needed.
  • Design and execute technical solutions that enhance the service level of both on-premise and cloud platforms.
  • Investigate incidents, diagnose problems, and provide timely resolutions.
  • Oversee cluster provisioning, fine-tune performance, and configure security settings.
  • Monitor systems and address any platform-related issues promptly.
  • Identify recurring problems and conduct root cause analysis.


  • 5+ years' experience working with AWS and Azure (professional certification or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience working on-premise Kubernetes Clusters.
  • 5+ years' experience in application deployment automation and DevOps practice.
  • 5+ years' experience installing, administering, and maintaining Linux based software.
  • 3+ years' experience with IT automation tools such as Ansible, Salt and Terraform.
  • Extensive knowledge of Azure DevOps.
  • Experience designing and implementing redundant systems including data backups/recoveries, high availability, load balancing, and disaster recovery.
