Our client is a leading international bank and we have been instructed to search for a credit trading / derivatives lawyer to join their investment banking legal division.
This is an exciting and varied role touching on a variety of products including structured finance, credit derivatives, and loan trading. In this role, you will be the 'go to' lawyer on credit derivatives for the business, whilst also covering the areas listed above. The role would suit someone who is looking to work on a broad variety of high-end, structured transactions - they do not churn out the same repeat deals under template terms, so it is an exciting and intellectually stimulating role for someone who enjoys working on complex and bespoke solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a solid grounding in derivatives, preferably with familiarity of credit derivatives in particular. Those coming from interest rate and foreign exchange derivatives backgrounds may also have transferable skills that our client would be interested in. Lawyers with a very heavy focus on equity derivatives are unlikely to be considered (unless they have previous experience on the credit side) and the same applies to those who focus predominantly on ISDA negotiations. In terms of level, our client is looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years' PQE.
