DevOps Engineer

A globally recognised customer of The Hydrogen Group are looking to strengthen their team with the appointment of a DevOps Engineer on full time, permanent basis.

About the team

This role offers the exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing DevOps who partner with development teams across the firm, helping to increase the speed and resiliency of their delivery practices. Your role will include transferring your knowledge of devops practices and approaches into development teams as well as bringing experience in key tooling and partnering with developers to solve technical challenges along the way.

Essential Skills and experience

  • Detailed knowledge of software engineering practices and approaches

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure engineering and administration

  • Experience with Windows or Linux internals and administration

  • Experience building, designing and maintaining production systems

  • Detailed practical experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery practices

  • Creative approach to solving technical problems

  • Ability to build relationships and influence development teams

  • Experience in one or more of the following: Azure DevOps Pipelines, Github Actions, Jenkins, Gitlab Runners (or equivalent)

  • Experience in agile testing approaches, frameworks and implementations

Desired Skills and experience (strong in at least one of area)

  • Ability to analyse, debug and optimise code

  • Experience automating complex tasks and workflows

  • Experience in one or more coding / scripting language e.g. Python, Perl, Bash, Groovy (or equivalent)
