Option to work in London/Leeds - with one visit per month to the other site.

My client is a leading consumer finance provider in the UK. They have 2 roles open in a Product Owner capacity.

These 2 teams include working with colleagues in their contact centre who work in customer operations, developing products which indirectly affect their customers. The second is developing products that will help customers fight and report fraud and disputes.

You will lead a multi-functional scrum team, consisting of engineers, architects, analysts, testers, designers and more. You may also rely on 3rd party partners- it's your responsibility to define and build the team you want to deliver your roadmap. Your role will be to create user stories, prioritising and balance your product backlog so it sits in alignment with these goals.

Product Owners have full accountability for the success of their assigned product(s).

Your ability to motivate not only yourself but others around you is crucial. You will have a clear product vision and expertly communicate and translate this to users, partners, and your agile delivery team. Your ambition for ever-better products will be evidenced via a continuously evolving product roadmap.

What will you be doing day-to-day?

· Shape, create and update your product roadmap(s) balancing the Executive's strategic agenda, service performance goals, and your own creative direction

· Lead and motivate a dedicated multi-functional squad consisting of development, analysis, testing, designers and more

· Create user stories, epics and initiatives- everything needed to create a balanced and prioritised backlog for your squad to deliver each fortnightly sprint cycle

· Prepare and own sprint planning, releasing regular value to your customers in line with fortnightly sprint cycles

· Participate and host agile ceremonies including daily standups, refinement/ planning sessions, retrospectives, and Show & Tells.

· Own your product's service performance, ensuring it remains available, responsive and controlled

· Take charge when there are incidents or problems- lead root cause analysis and resolution within agreed SLAs

· Manage partner relationships relevant to your product, including Architecture, Transformation, Service Delivery and Finance

· Handle emerging product risks and dependencies, raising material items to Head of Product as needed

· Key contact for all partners, both internal and external, this role has high exposure to the Senior Management Committee and above.

· Interpret sophisticated business ideas and vision statements into and communicate everything down into the dev/technical user stories accessible to delivery teams

· Subject matter expertise in your product design and feature suite

· Building with quality in mind, ensuring adequate QA and testing controls are in place, before approving releases to Production

· Supervise, track, and improve product success metrics, and Digital key performance indicators

· Own resourcing and financial plans, with potential for budget ownership

Your Skills and Experience

Essential

· Experienced Product Owner or Product Manager, ideally in a SaaS or PaaS environment

· Decisive- decisions need to be made promptly to unblock impediments and agree on designs that enable ambitious plans to be delivered

· The ability to energize and empower partners and team members- building excitement around your central product vision

· A natural collaborator, able to arbitrate challenging, sometimes conflicting priorities,

· Lead and empower a team, bringing people together on a positive journey that ends in success

· A track record of delivery using an iterative/agile methodology (e.g. Agile/SCRUM) and experience in agile collaboration tools (e.g. Atlassian Jira, Confluence).

· Attention to detail is a must-have with full end to end accountability of digital delivery from requirements, development, testing, deployment, and tracking

· Strong digital capabilities and deep understanding of how digital solutions can improve customer experiences

· Ability to pre-empt potential risks and undertake appropriate mitigation actions.

· Passionate, proactive, and shows leadership throughout the development process

Desirable

· Knowledge of the credit card sector and its products, or relevant experience in Financial Services

· Certified Product Owner, e.g. SCRUM or SAFe

· Experience in developing Digital products and services
