Our pharmaceutical client is going through an exciting period of transformation and is looking for a Director of ML to lead the development of the team as they digitalise the Data Science function. This role requires strong proven leadership experience as the Director will need to recruit, lead, develop and motivate staff to achieve these objectives.

The Director of ML will partner closely with business partners to develop ML projects and be responsible for leading teams of 10-15 AI/ Data Scientists to ensure successful project delivery. The successful candidate will also direct the Data Science Strategy for the department, providing thought leadership across the organisation and be an ambassador for new standards and ways of working.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Data Science Leader who enjoys having the space to establish a new function and build a team, with the backing of an established international brand in a purpose-led organisation.

Requirements:

· 10+ years' relevant Data Science experience with experience working with Biological/ health/ chemical data

· PhD in ML, Computer Science, or other relevant quantitative subject

· Proven experience building and leading teams in cutting edge applications of AI/ ML in dynamic environments

· Deep expertise in modern AI/ML methods and topics, including computer vision, NLP, structured data, probabilistic / causal ML, normalising flows etc.

· Strong publication history in the field of AI/ML

· Technology: Python, PyTorch, Tensorflow, GitHub, Slack, Jira, Trello
