- Responsible for the electrical engineering design activities associated with electrical distribution, lighting, telecommunications, and fire alarm systems found in aviation, federal, military, commercial, mission critical, and process facilities.
Reponsibilities:
Perform electrical design of projects from the conceptual design phase through design completion.
Able to develop electrical design documents for facilities encompassing, but not limited to the: reliable normal and emergency power distribution, energy efficient lighting systems, telecommunications systems, electronic security systems, fire alarm and mass notification systems, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, and emergency generator systems.
Apply strong knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry.
Prepare and update design drawings utilizing Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, and additional computer programs to accomplish electrical design goals.
Develop conceptual studies, narratives, and design.
Design electrical systems/equipment to provide a useful and safe workplace.
Provide electrical design direction on multi-discipline projects.
Enforce company and design standards and practices.
Develop design criteria for protective device coordination, relay applications, medium voltage transformers, switchgear, medium and low voltage distribution.
Perform construction support services, including but not limited to: shop drawing and submittal reviews, answering RFIs, change order reviews, attending site visits, and final punchlist.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program.
Or Bachelor of Science in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering may be substituted for 1-year experience.
3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
Successful completion (i.e. Passing) FE or EIT required.
Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs and other analysis programs.
