The Role
The Functional Consultant - Marketing Tech serves as a critical bridge between marketing operations and the technical aspects of the marketing technology platforms, especially Salesforce Marketing Cloud. By ensuring seamless integrations and configurations tailored to the clients unique marketing needs, this role contributes directly to the efficiency and success of marketing campaigns and customer outreach.
Reporting to the Delivery Lead - Marketing Technology, the Functional Consultant - Marketing Technology works closely with the marketing team, customer insights, and data analytics teams across different regions. By leveraging expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Qualtrix, Cvent, and the Segment CDP platform, this role ensures a harmonised and effective translation of marketing strategies into technical solutions, fostering stakeholder engagement and continuous platform optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing Collaboration: Engage with marketing teams to understand, gather, and prioritise requirements for marketing campaigns, ensuring that technical configurations support marketing strategies optimally.
- Campaign Facilitation & Optimisation: Drive the execution of marketing campaigns by setting up, testing, and optimising campaign elements within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and related platforms.
- Integration Mastery: Ensure seamless integration between Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Qualtrix, Cvent, and Segment CDP platform, enhancing data flow and marketing automation capabilities.
- Segmentation & Personalisation: Utilise platforms to create targeted customer segments, ensuring that marketing messages are personalised and relevant.
- Analytics & Reporting: Design and maintain dashboards and reports in Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other platforms, providing insights on campaign performance and customer behaviour.
- Platform Health & Updates: Monitor the health, performance, and security of marketing tech platforms. Stay updated with the latest releases and suggest potential enhancements.
- Feedback Loop Creation: Establish processes to capture feedback on marketing campaigns and leverage this feedback for continuous improvement.
- Training & Support: Provide guidance and training to marketing teams on the functionalities and best practices of the platforms in use.
- Data Integrity & Compliance: Ensure data handling and processing are in line with organisational policies, The Australian Privacy Act, GDPR or other relevant data protection regulations across APAC.
- Trend Spotting: Stay updated with the latest trends in marketing technology and suggest ways to incorporate them for improved campaign effectiveness.
The Team
The Functional Consultant - Marketing is a pivotal member of the Marketing Technology team. Collaborating with various professionals including campaign managers, data analysts and engineers, and fellow consultants, this role contributes to a larger vision of making marketing initiatives more data-driven and effective. Grounded in Agile methodologies, the team benefits from continuous feedback loops, ensuring marketing strategies are both innovative and aligned with objectives.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Platform Certifications: Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator, Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Consultant
- Demonstrated Expertise in Marketing Cloud Configurations: Proven ability to utilise and configure key tools within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder, and Data Extensions for tailored marketing campaigns and automations. Experience in troubleshooting and managing Salesforce production incidents.
- Campaign Mastery: Experience in setting up, monitoring, and optimising marketing campaigns within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Analytics: Ability to derive actionable insights from campaign data and analytics.
Other Qualifications:
- Tools Proficiency: Experience using the Atlassian suite, notably JIRA and Confluence.
- Demonstrated Experience: Proven track record as a functional consultant within marketing technology, preferably with hands-on experience in Qualtrix, Cvent, and Segment CDP platform.
- Troubleshooting Skills: Proven capability to address and resolve platform-related issues efficiently.
- Data Protection: Awareness of data protection regulations, especially in relation to marketing outreach.
- Continuous Learning: Eagerness to stay updated with the latest trends in marketing technology and strategies.
- Understanding of Marketing Integration Approaches: Familiarity with integration techniques and tools pertinent to Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Qualtrix, Cvent, and Segment CDP, with an awareness that detailed integration tasks are managed by the development team.
