Job Title: Interim Project Manager

Location: London (Hybrid Working)

Duration: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

The Role

We have an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our business during an exciting period of change, to manage cells/projects/workstreams within the programme and ensure the on-time delivery of the transformation project. You'll have a level subject knowledge to analyse complex business requirements and work with others to offer solution recommendations and support project colleagues to deliver business objectives.

You'll lead teams in definition of requirements and solutions, and through the successful deliver of activity, whilst maintaining a good working knowledge of vendors, solutions and market trends alongside industry best practice. In addition, you'll be able to plan and organise own workload, or workload of any team managed, including task and resource allocations in order to ensure delivery against business plans, months to a year ahead.

The Responsibilities

  • Delivery against agreed commercial objectives and operational KPI's, while demonstrating agreed business values and behaviours;
  • Successfully deliver against SLA's for your area of responsibility;
  • Take ownership of any issues and manage these through to resolution;
  • Appropriately respond to market, policy and regulatory changes;
  • Manage and lead key project stakeholders where and when necessary;
  • Influence and build relationships up to Senior Manager and/or potentially Director Level to support quality service delivery, and providing professional advice and guidance when required;
  • Act as a role model to inspire a strong organisational culture that aligns with the business purpose and values;
  • May manage individuals or a small team, and drive continuous improvement in order to ensure delivery against KPIs;
  • Use management information and technical knowledge to propose developments to policies and procedures to support business improvement, both within your own specialism or to contribute to cross-functional projects;
  • Oversee the sharing and implementation of policies and procedures for your own area, to help embed them and ensure compliance;
  • Ensure that your business area processes and procedures support the management of the key business area's risk;
  • Embed a culture of risk management into day-to-day activities across teams and colleagues, as well as challenge when risk management is not considered in business-as-usual activities. Identifying and escalating potential risks;
  • Own the as-is business process catalogue and be accountable to new business process moving forwards;
  • Contribute to the business capability map;
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and upcoming developments to provide expert recommendations to the business function(s) in order to achieve business objectives;
  • Undertake analysis and interpretation of complex end to end business requirements and the feasibility of solutions involving multiple components and interfaces;
  • Produce appropriate documentation using industry standard tools and techniques;
  • Facilitate the prioritisation of requirements through the definition of discreet benefits cases per requirement and subsequent ranking/agreement from key stakeholders;
  • Assist in the production of business and solution design specifications for agreed business requirements;
  • Participate in the full project lifecycle including requirements, design and test;
  • Take a leading role on supplier procurement activities to shape and select strategic solutions, as well as defining and implementing new processes within the target ERP platform;
  • Manage the planning and set up of activity plans so that they interface appropriately win technical process and organisational terms with other cells and teams;
  • Implement the standard project management approach and standards ensuring governance arrangements are in place;
  • Monitor progress against plan through regular reviews and maintain close contact with all programme work streams;
  • Apply rigorous scope change control, dependencies tightly managed and issues resolved in a timely manner;
  • Manage suppliers in a timely, accurate and consistent manager to deliver against project activity;
  • Manage process whereby project benefits are clearly defined and agreed by all relevant stakeholders

Essential Requirements

  • You'll be certified in AMP and/or Prince 2 / Scrum (CSM or PSM)
  • A good working knowledge of business across all functions including direct to customer;
  • Experience of agile delivery of complex programmes and projects;
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills;
  • Adaptable, you'll be able to lead and manage both technical and non-technical people up to Senior Manager level;
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships;
  • Good commercial awareness and (where relevant) understanding of the regulatory environment;
  • Experience of managing and controlling a budget;
