Hydrogen are working on an exciting opportunity with a leading international bank who are looking to hire a retail banking lawyer to join their highly regarded legal team as a Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will provide legal advice and support to the retail banking business, with a particular focus on Payments and Cash Management regulation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on regulatory and compliance issues related to retail banking, with a focus on Payments and Cash Management regulation.
- Review and advise on customer-facing documentation, including terms and conditions, product agreements, and marketing materials.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including product, operations, and risk teams, to provide legal input on new product development and roll-out.
- Keep up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations affecting retail banking and provide guidance to the business accordingly.
Requirements:
- Admitted to practice as a solicitor in England & Wales with ideally 2 - 6 years PQE gained in-house or within private practice.
- Experience advising on retail banking regulation, with a particular focus on Payments and Cash Management.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including PSD2, Open Banking, and SWIFT.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate legal risks.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
