Principal Embedded Software Engineer (Linux) - Medical Device Company

Responsibilities:
As an Embedded Software Engineer you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for medical devices, ensuring they meet high standards of reliability, performance, and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software developers, and quality assurance to define software requirements and system specifications.
- Implement and optimize real-time Linux-based software for embedded platforms, with a focus on performance and security.
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from initial concept to design, implementation, testing, documentation, and post-release support.
- Debug and resolve software defects, and conduct thorough testing to ensure robust and reliable software operation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, applying best practices in embedded software development and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in embedded software development, with a strong emphasis on Linux-based systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages for embedded applications.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and the Linux kernel.
- Familiarity with device drivers, communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C), and hardware-software interaction.
- Prior work in the medical device industry is a strong plus, with knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304, FDA guidelines).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
