Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Welwyn Gardens City, Hertfordshire, UK

Contract Duration: 6 Month Initial

Work Pattern: Hybrid, 3 Days On Site, 2 Days Remote

Job Summary:

Leads the delivery of strategic Finance projects to ensure successful delivery of the change agenda through the definition, design and delivery of a project, within a wider programme or portfolio of change. You will be working in partnership with the Business, Finance and IT, and wider group functions to understand their requirements for change and support their delivery.

Job Responsibilities:

- Lead the development of a finance change project to realise the key capability requirements of the future operating model, with a 1 to 3 year delivery horizon

- Work in collaboration with project sponsors and other key stakeholders within the business to ensure shared ownership for the delivery of project outcomes; in particular with Finance to ensure financial reporting of project benefits

- Deliver change into the organisation through the application of 'best in class' project and change management

- Own project stakeholder relationships and engage the business more broadly with project communications

- Play an active role in continuously improving the engagement and performance of the team

- Establish and sustain an effective governance framework to ensure the appropriate level of oversight and control is in place across their project

- Co-ordinate the definition and delivery of detailed business requirements through collaboration with the business, Technology and other 3rd parties

- Take ownership for key project deliverables (such as the plan and budget) across the project lifecycle and apply appropriate methodologies to support the achievement of wider project aims and objectives

- Forecast and manage the allocated budget/s effectively, understanding variances and always being cost conscious

- Capture and facilitate lessons learned in conjunction with team members and other key stakeholders

Experience Required:

- Hands-on PM experience in delivering finance projects

- 5+ years experience as Project Manager

- Finance and Tech Project delivery experience

- Managing Projects with Budgets up to c£5m

- Has delivered E-2-E Projects from initiation, delivery, to release and handover

- Preferably a Project Management Professional accreditation i.e. APM, Prince2, SAFe, Agile

- Experience of large corporate financial budgeting and planning processes.

- Prior experience working within projects heavily aligned with Technology

- Strong Stakeholder skills

- Experience of working in a 'set up' environment and the ability to deal with ambiguity as processes, standards and governance change.

The Ideal Candidate:

- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously

- Solid understanding of project process, standards and governance

- Proven track record of working and liaising effectively with business users at all levels of seniority and influencing in a matrix structure (including Exec team)

- Project management methodology / qualification (APM, Prince2 or equivalent)

- Good knowledge and user of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint

- Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Teams and other collaboration tools

- Financial acumen

- Organisation skills (including time management)

- Data analysis and report preparation

- Results-oriented and customer-focused, able to interact and communicate at all levels
