Department Overview

Market and Valuation Risk Management and Model Risk Management (MVRM and MoRM) is part of the Chief Risk Office with responsibilities as follows:

Description of the role

MVRM and MoRM Change require a hands-on Change Analyst with strong coding skills to deliver key risk Analytical use cases across the Analytics & Reporting programme. This is a key initiative required to support important regulatory commitments such as Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB), Stress Testing, Economic Capital, and as part of the strategic drive to support self-serve capabilities for the business.


  • Conducting business requirement analysis, liaising with IT development team to ensure delivery user driven application to stakeholders, and carrying out UAT at each release
  • Ensuring requirements are triaged and prioritised in readiness for planning
  • Assisting in designing, developing and refactoring market risk analytics scripts to improve business productivity and code efficiency
  • Delivering capabilities to empower users with enhanced Analytical & Reporting services
  • Identifying critical dependencies that could impact projects, and engage with relevant counterparts to minimise delivery risk

Skills & Experience required:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst, demonstrating expertise in the implementation of business driven technical solutions in an agile framework
  • Domain expertise in delivering Risk Analytical capabilities such as What-If, Explain and Scenario Analysis for Value at Risk and Stress Testing metrics
  • Experience in writing Python scripts (familiar with pandas, numpy, spark) and usage of the Tableau Business Intelligence software
  • Good understanding of software development best practice, object oriented programming and relational database design principal
  • Good inter-personal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills with experience in dealing with senior stakeholders
