Role: Frontend Senior Developer (permanent position)

The Role: Our client is a prominent retail bank in the United Kingdom looking for their next Front-End Developer to join their digital solutions unit. The successful candidate will be competently able to assess and estimate new work requests, fix bugs & reduce tech debt across systems, and engage with colleagues during pull requests. Day to day will involve utilising CI/CD, semantically versioned common code libraries, and ensuring high code coverage. This role requires a genuine passion for developing best practices and assisting junior members of the team during pull requests. There will also be the opportunity to contribute to optimising and modernising the client's tech stack and suggest ideas for development approaches and architectural approaches.


  • Minimum 5 years commercial experience in developer role, programming applications using Javascript or Typescript
  • Previous experience in the development of single page Web applications using React or similar frameworks (e.g. Angular, Vue)
  • Experience implementing and using UI state management patterns e.g (Redux, Zustand)
  • Experience of using version control tooling & repositories, e.g. git, GitHub, Bitbucket
  • Understanding of agile work tracking/ticketing software such as Jira, Azure Boards
  • Familiarity with best practice software development principles, e.g. DRY, KISS, SOLID
  • Awareness of security considerations with front end software development
  • Knowledge of either Object Oriented or Functional Programming paradigms
  • An understanding of declarative routing patterns (e.g with React Router)
  • Knowledge of library dependency management using NPM or similar
  • Awareness of modern UI styling approaches using CSS, Sass or CSS-in-JSS solutions
  • Ability to develop unit & integration tests using Javascript test frameworks, e.g. Jest, Enzyme, Jasmine
  • Basic understanding of communicating with Microservice REST APIs and Networking/HTTP protocols
