Senior System Administrator -London - Financial Services (Hybrid)

Role: Senior System Administrator

Salary: £65,000 + excellent benefits (DOE)

Location: London (Hybrid)*

*UK based applicants only

Our client in the financial services is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to support the network system, office network and product maintenance, any network failures and maintenance it may require. You need to have your own vehicle and be ready to turn up at the data centre (near London) quickly to fix equipment failures or to carry out the work. This also entails close technical communication via all communication channels (depending on the situation) with other departments.

Scope of work-

  • Senior systems administrator experience is essential to prevent outsiders from accessing the network and any files it contains or devices connected to it, keeping the company's network secure. In addition to understanding general digital security best practices, demonstrating specific knowledge of the core technological elements a company uses can further help this professional monitor and improve digital security.
  • It is important for a system administrator to know how to manage the various technological equipment in a company. This includes both the hardware needed to manage and maintain the company's network, as well as the individual computers and devices that employees use to interact with the network. The system administrator is responsible both for establishing protocols to minimise the risk of errors in the equipment the company uses and for overseeing the correction of any errors that occur.
  • Structured query language (SQL) is the most common database management language and a key technical skill that a system administrator must possess. Understanding SQL allows the system administrator to maintain important company databases and provide or delegate assistance to employees when they encounter problems accessing the company database.
