Our customer are seeking an experienced Systems Engineering Manager with a strong technical background and a passion for leading high-performance engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Source code systems and branching strategies, Github and Github Actions, Containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and significant experience with cloud providers such as AWS and Azure.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of systems engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available, scalable, and secure systems.
  • Develop and implement best practices for source code systems and branching strategies, including Git and Github workflows.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of containerisation technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, for deployment and scaling of applications.
  • Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS and Azure, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability.
  • Manage the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline, including experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure provisioning tools such as Istio, Terraform, Azure DevOps, and CloudFormation.
  • Ensure observability and application monitoring using tools such as New Relic, Grafana, and/or Splunk.
  • Develop and implement networking concepts such as Bastion hosts, Reverse Proxies, Load Balancing, and TLS.
  • Develop and implement automation for IaaS, PaaS, and Saas environments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in Systems Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial role.
  • Expertise in source code systems and branching strategies, including Git and Github workflows.
  • Strong experience in containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Significant experience with cloud providers such as AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and workflows, including GitHub and GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools such as Istio, Terraform, Azure DevOps, and CloudFormation.
  • Experience with observability and application monitoring tools such as New Relic, Grafana, and/or Splunk.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts such as Bastion hosts, Reverse Proxies, Load Balancing, and TLS.
  • Strong automation skills for IaaS, PaaS, and Saas environments.
