We're looking for a Test Lead to join our major retail client during an exciting period of change, in a role where you can apply in-depth knowledge and expertise to define and operate the testing regime on the programme. You'll work with others on the programme to understand requirements, offer solution recommendations and support the key project stakeholders in order to deliver critical business objectives. You'll be a key interface between suppliers and internal capability teams and be able to effectively manage relationships for success. This role will bring testing knowledge and expertise to understand how to optimise testing to ensure quality whilst maintaining project speed. You'll be a big picture person when working with the Programme Manager and Cell Leaders to ensure the testing plan and approach is fully understood and be able to utilise modern methods and industry best practice.




The Responsibilities:

  • You'll be a proactive person who is able to plan and organise your own workload, or the workload of others if required including task allocating in order to ensure delivery against targets;
  • Be able to build great relationships internally and influence decision making up to Director level;
  • May be required to line manage/act as a line manager from time to time, with the ability to step up and lead against KPIs if tasked with doing so;
  • Work to SLAs, and support the business to deliver against these;
  • Use your expertise to implement and executive your own strategy within your service area;
  • Propose developments to policies and procedures to support business improvement;
  • Work collaboratively to contribute to cross-functional projects;
  • Oversee the sharing and implementation of policies and procedures for your own area to help embed them into the function and ensure compliance;
  • Ensuring that processes and procedures are adhered to, to manage against risk. This includes embedding the culture of risk management across the team ensuring that it is embedded in day to day activities and escalating any potential risks;
  • Define and develop the testing strategy for the programme including the definitions of tooling and scope;
  • Define the key test scenarios for use during the programme as well as QA and Control processes;
  • Work collaboratively with Cell Leads and Business Analyst to better scope;
  • Able to define capabilities around test automation to test new, legacy and retained systems required;
  • Work with the Transition Manager to ensure testing is appropriate at transition/cutover;
