Marketing Manager - Credit Cards contract


Location: Central London

Duration: 10-12 Months

Day Rate: £435


Responsibilities:

• Lead the marketing workstream to take us through to the launch of the credit card, coordinating the marketing deliverables

• Be the in-house expert on co-brand marketing, working with internal and external partners to develop a compelling and creative omni-channel marketing strategy for the Credit Card

• Take ownership for translating the marketing strategy into a coherent and engaging marketing plan & targeting strategy, delivering account acquisition and card spend forecast numbers

• Juggle multiple and often conflicting priorities

• Work closely with all internal marketing channel owners to drive card acquisition and cardholder engagement

• Be the powerhouse behind end-to-end campaign development; leading an innovative campaign strategy, execution, optimization and analysis

• Collaborate with the Brand team, Loyalty team, Legal team, wider marketing functions and external partners to develop efficient operational (briefing, approvals, analysis etc) and governance processes

• Work with data & research partners to develop a deep understanding of our cardholders with the aim of segmenting our base to drive spend motivation and take rate

• Manage a sizable annual marketing budget, ensuring appropriate return on investment monitoring and reporting is in place

• Communicate freely; ensuring strong internal visibility of credit card marketing activity at all levels of the organisation and develop strong stakeholder relationships

• Be a champion of test and learn, ensuring testing, data and customer research are at the heart of all decision-making

• Lead customer and market research initiatives to actively drive insights and identify new opportunities. Be the marketing ‘Voice of the customer’

• Keep abreast of competitor products and innovation in the marketplace

• Provide thought-leadership on effective co-brand credit card marketing and proposition development approaches and input into the on-going product roadmap


Skills required:

• Be comfortable managing a diverse range of stakeholders and driving them to deliver against your vision

• Have very strong partner management & interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence, motivate and gain consensus across all levels of the organisations

• Be highly detailed orientated with the ability to tackle the minutiae while keeping a perspective on the bigger picture

• Be a natural problem solver. Be both able to anticipate issues before they arise but also be able to calmly tackle ad hoc problems in a logical and structured manner

• At least 7 years of experience in new product launch marketing

• Preferably have prior experience marketing a credit card, with a good understanding of the credit card industry and US Financial services legal landscape (travel-specific co-brand knowledge a plus)

• You should be highly creative and innovative, yet equally happy analysing campaign performance and return on investment data

• Be passionate about developing compelling customer experiences

• Have the ability to take on unstructured/undefined problems and apply creative and strategic frameworks to solve them

• Be a strong self-starter with the ability to work effectively in an ambiguous and dynamic environment
