Now, there’s one particular question we almost ALWAYS get asked by our candidates: what’s the secret to acing my interview?

And it’s a good question! Particularly when it comes to technical interviews and facing a whiteboard-style interview where you’re presented with a series of problems to solve. It can often feel like a difficult situation to prepare for, when you have no clue what questions they could ask!

However, there are a few things you can do to make sure you ace that technical interview.

This was the topic of our workshop last week, in association with Flatiron School, Women Who Code and Avanade. We welcomed over 50 people to our Houston office for an evening of learning and networking.

We were also delighted to welcome guest speaker Banke Ojeyinka, a Senior Business Analyst at TUYA Technologies in Houston, Texas. She is a highly motivated Certified Scrum Master, SAFe 4 Agilest and Product Owner with 16 years of professional experience as a Senior Business System Analyst / Quality Assurance Analyst that possesses an efficient working knowledge & strong understanding of analytical, retail, marketing, oil and gas, financial skills and project management methodologies e.g. Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) both scrum/agile & traditional/waterfall principles and practices & uses this knowledge to bring solutions to projects & business units that are supported to enhance the company’s competitive edge.

We focused the topic of our conversation on a few key areas:

  • How to create an impactful resume (the do’s and don’ts!)
  • Making sure you’re fully prepped for your whiteboard interview and know what to expect
  • What your interviewees are looking for from you

Here are the key slides from our presentation and our top tips on how to ace your technical interview:

Thank you to all our guests who came and made it such a wonderful event!
