How You’ll Make an Impact:
As the Manager of Accounting, you’ll oversee key financial processes including partner invoicing, fixed assets, cash and investments, R&D and SG&A spend, outsourced manufacturing contracts, prepaids, royalties, and leases. You will ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting by applying appropriate accounting standards, managing balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing journal entries, and supporting month- and quarter-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals
- Review and approve vendor setups, bank reconciliations, and monthly allocation entries
- Drive month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Manage accounting for R&D, SG&A, and outsourced manufacturing contracts in partnership with internal teams and external vendors
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and construction in progress
- Approve lease entries and manage lease amortization schedules
- Support treasury activities by reviewing cash and investment accounting
- Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue balances
- Serve as the system administrator for Blackline account reconciliation software
- Ensure SOX 404 compliance by maintaining up-to-date process documentation and coordinating with auditors and consultants
- Prepare ad hoc reports and support special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 8+ years of accounting and general ledger experience; 3+ years in a leadership role preferred
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial compliance
- Experience in a public company and with SOX compliance required; multinational experience preferred
- Background in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector is highly desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (Great Plains preferred)
