Position Overview
The Construction Supervisor Level 2 provides technical and budget/financial support for energy-related construction projects. This role includes reviewing contract documents, evaluating design criteria, and providing field oversight for assigned contractors. The supervisor will support route development and pre-construction activities, ensuring compliance with engineering, environmental, and permitting requirements.
Travel within the U.S. is expected approximately 25%
of the time.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support route development, refinement, and field verification for pre-construction activities.
- Review plant design criteria, drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor and oversee contractor performance and associated scope of work.
- Apply value engineering concepts to optimize routing for permitting and late-stage project phases.
- Identify and evaluate routing risks, incorporating input from engineering, environmental, legal, land, and development subject-matter experts.
- Communicate risks and tradeoffs effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Ensure pre-construction preparations, site readiness, and documentation accuracy for gen-tie and related energy projects.
Required Experience & Skills
- 6–10 years of experience supporting technical and financial aspects of construction projects, including contractor oversight.
- Experience with route refinement, permitting-related criteria, and siting/routing tradeoff analysis.
- Strong ability to remain detail-oriented while maintaining awareness of overall project objectives.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to collaborate across engineering, environmental, legal, development, and land teams.
- Proficiency with geospatial tools such as Google Earth or GIS (preferred).
Education
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Power Generation, Construction, or related field; or equivalent experience.
