The Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a high-performing data team, delivering scalable and reliable data solutions within a complex enterprise environment. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone passionate about building robust data platforms and driving real business value from data.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ELT workflows on Databricks, following Medallion architecture

  • Analyse data requirements and apply advanced data modelling techniques (including Data Vault) and data quality frameworks

  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, product managers, and QA teams to deliver trusted data sets

  • Document data flows, transformations, and processes to support knowledge sharing and ongoing operations

  • Contribute to solution design, code reviews, and continuous platform improvement within Agile teams

  • Drive high-quality, high-performance data outcomes with a problem-solving mindset


Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and data integration/ingestion patterns

  • Proven expertise in Databricks, Delta Lake, notebooks, and modern data warehousing concepts

  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica IICS and Azure Data Factory

  • Solid background working with Azure cloud platforms (preferred)

  • Experience integrating and modelling insurance or reinsurance domain data(Lloyd’s/specialty market experience highly desirable)

  • Strong knowledge of on-prem and cloud databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server)

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks(Scrum, SAFe) and tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps

  • Understanding of data security considerations and tooling within modern data platforms

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach


Nice to Have

  • Professional certifications in Azure and/or Databricks
