Front Desk Attendant

Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (1-hour lunch); hours may vary for events or special classes with advance notice

Duration: 5-months

Pay:$20-22.75/hr (W2)




This role supports a major Southern California–based energy provider committed to delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable service to its customers.




In this role, you will serve as the welcoming face of the Energy Education Center, providing excellent customer service and administrative support to staff, visitors, and program participants. You’ll ensure a positive and efficient front-desk experience, assist with event coordination and facility operations, and support a variety of educational programs and demonstrations.



Key Responsibilities

Front Desk & Visitor Support

  • Greet and assist visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Provide general customer service and respond to inquiries regarding programs and services.
  • Offer basic technical assistance for training and conference rooms.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.

Workshop & Event Support

  • Coordinate logistics, registration, and attendance for workshops, meetings, and classes.
  • Assist instructors and staff with event preparation and administrative tasks.
  • Support customer engagement before, during, and after events.

Facilities & Operations

  • Submit and track facility maintenance requests.
  • Order and maintain office and program supplies.
  • Organize and manage operational documentation.
  • Support day-to-day building operations.

Tours & Demonstration Support

  • Schedule, coordinate, and assist with facility tours and demonstrations.
  • Prepare materials and equipment for hands-on sessions.
  • Support staff with setup and customer assistance during demonstrations.

Lending Program Administration

  • Manage reservations, checkouts, and returns for tool and induction lending programs.
  • Prepare and package equipment for customer pickup.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and loan records.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with general office tasks, including mail sorting, scanning, scheduling, and phone support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Proficiency with internet-based applications
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
