Job Summary
The General Laborer
position supports day-to-day operational efficiency by performing a variety of hands-on material handling and site maintenance tasks. This role involves sorting, preparing, and organizing materials for recycling, auction, or disposal while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Gaylord boxes according to supervisor specifications
- Sort meters, surge shields, electronics, transponders, and other materials based on defined criteria
- Separate, categorize, and tag materials for auction preparation
- Bale cardboard and wire jackets in compliance with safety procedures
- Sort and handle various metals for recycling or disposal
- Safely handle and sort toner cartridges for storage or recycling
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the property and work areas
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE
- Collaborate with team members to support smooth daily operations
- Operate machinery and equipment as required, following all safety guidelines
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision or management
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in general labor or similar roles is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions and manage multiple tasks
- Physical capability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices
Working Conditions
- Physically demanding role requiring standing, bending, lifting, and carrying for extended periods
- Work may occur indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions
