SCHEDULE: Standard Office Hours

DURATION: 12-Month Contract

PAY RATE:$21-26/hour


Job Overview

We are seeking a Project Scheduler to join the Engineering & Construction Project Scheduling Team, supporting a diverse portfolio of energy infrastructure projects. This role focuses on planning, scheduling, and operational coordination across projects including Wind, Solar, Energy Storage, Transmission Lines, Substations, Pipelines, and Combined Cycle generation.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project originators, engineers, construction managers, and operations teams to ensure accurate schedules, regulatory compliance, and efficient execution throughout the project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
  • Track schedule progress and prepare monthly reports comparing baseline vs. actual progress
  • Perform schedule analysis including Critical Path Method (CPM), resource and cost loading, manpower analysis, and schedule impact evaluations
  • Support recovery planning and mitigation strategies for schedule variances
  • Lead and participate in schedule review meetings with cross-functional teams
  • Communicate project status, risks, and variances clearly to management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather scope, logistics, constraints, and execution strategies
  • Develop and maintain work orders aligned with project execution, maintenance, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate scheduling activities related to maintenance, compliance, and project execution
  • Evaluate and improve work management and scheduling processes
  • Participate in event response activities and support root cause analysis
  • Schedule and dispatch generation resources to balance load and generation in real time
  • Perform next-day generation planning and assist with real-time system operations
  • Evaluate and approve OASIS requests and energy tags
  • Perform hourly and on-peak/off-peak energy accounting
  • Coordinate power plant commitments, decommitments, and outage planning
  • Ensure rapid recovery from loss-of-generation events to meet NERC requirements
  • Perform load forecasting to optimize generation dispatch

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 6–10 years of experience in project scheduling, power system operations, or power system planning
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience using Primavera P6
  • Professional certification preferred
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt preferred
  • Experience with load forecasting, transmission & distribution operations, and real-time system planning preferred
  • Working knowledge of NERC reliability standards and regulatory compliance
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills across engineering, construction, and operations teams
  • Ability to validate and challenge external inputs to ensure schedule accuracy
  • Proven ability to present clear project and operational updates to leadership
