Job Title: Portfolio Scheduler (Pharmaceutical Projects)

Location: Onsite – Clayton, NC

Employment Type: 12+ month contract

Reports To: Portfolio Manager


Position Overview

The Portfolio Scheduler is responsible for the day-to-day creation, maintenance, and reporting of project schedules across a portfolio of pharmaceutical projects. This role ensures that all project timelines are accurately developed, updated, and communicated to relevant stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Smartsheet, experience coordinating across multiple project teams, and a solid background in pharmaceutical project scheduling.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain integrated schedules for multiple projects within the portfolio.
  • Liaise with individual project teams to gather progress updates, identify schedule impacts, and ensure alignment with portfolio timelines.
  • Generate and distribute regular schedule reports and performance metrics for portfolio management review.
  • Support risk and change management by analyzing schedule variances and forecasting potential impacts.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of scheduling data across all projects within the portfolio.
  • Collaborate closely with the Portfolio Manager and assist in overall portfolio planning and prioritization activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Smartsheet – essential for schedule development, updates, and reporting.
  • Proven experience managing schedules across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional project teams.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience is required – understanding of project phases, regulatory considerations, and manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in standard project management principles and reporting practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Primavera P6, particularly for coordination with larger individual projects.
  • Prior exposure to portfolio-level planning and reporting in complex, multi-project environments.

Additional Details

  • This position is onsite full-time; no travel is required.
  • The role reports directly to the Portfolio Manager but interacts regularly with individual project teams within the portfolio.
