Summary

The R2R Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end Record to Report (R2R) process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance with internal controls, and continuous process improvement. This role supervises a team of accountants and analysts, leads the month-end close process, supports audits, and ensures alignment with global standard practices of Lonza and overall organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of the R2R team, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit queries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into R2R solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity through coordination with AP, AR, FP&A, and business units.
  • Lead and support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of R2R processes to maintain quality and compliance.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users and team members on best R2R practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of R2R configurations and processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and optimization initiatives.
  • Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and apply knowledge to enhance R2R processes.
  • Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and execution of R2R-related initiatives.

Education & Certifications

  • University Degree in Business Management or Finance (required; in progress acceptable).
  • Preferred: CPA or CIMA certification (in progress acceptable).

Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of GBSO workstreams and finance processes.
  • Extensive experience in SAP R2R processes and SAP implementation projects.
  • Proven experience in:
    • Balance Sheet reconciliations
    • Month-end closure
    • Financial analysis
    • Internal controls
    • Budget process
    • Stakeholder management
    • Audit coordination and reporting

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Deep understanding of accounting principles and financial standards.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and influencing abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and across all organizational levels.
  • Hands-on, self-starter mindset with a strong service orientation and positive attitude.
  • Project management and process improvement experience.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles and system implementation is a plus.
