This Senior Nuclear Engineering role provides specialized technical support to help ensure the safe, reliable operation of a large nuclear power fleet. The engineer offers expert guidance on complex issues, applies industry standards and regulatory requirements, and supports plant teams with advanced analysis and problem-solving. Acting as both a technical resource and advisor, this position helps maintain strong operational performance and long-term unit reliability across multiple facilities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized technical expertise to support the operation and performance of nuclear power facilities.
- Execute advanced engineering assignments and special projects that require original thinking, deep industry knowledge, and a high level of professional judgment.
- Work independently with minimal oversight on engineering tasks that may have little or no established precedent.
- Serve as a technical consultant to leadership, offering expert guidance on complex issues.
- Interpret and apply nuclear industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements to new or unfamiliar situations.
- Facilitate team-based problem-solving efforts, using strong management and conflict-resolution skills to ensure timely progress.
- Provide supervisory backup when needed, supporting departmental leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; may be accepted in lieu of a degree in some cases.
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of engineering or related professional experience.
