Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Supplier Development Engineer
to join the Advanced Technology (AT) Supplier Development Engineering team. This role provides manufacturing engineering support
for the design, development, and commercialization of implantable cardiovascular devices and delivery systems. You will work with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM), supplier capability, and product quality
from development through product launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical input for strategic sourcing projects including supplier evaluation, part qualification plans, and specification reviews
- Participate in technical discussions with suppliers to improve products and processes
- Conduct design and drawing reviews to ensure manufacturability
- Define supplier qualification requirements for OEMs, contract manufacturers, and custom materials
- Lead supplier validations and support initial builds and commercialization of new product introductions
- Integrate new products into manufacturing, supporting phase-in/phase-out activities
- Manage product and supply chain readiness reviews and design transfers to manufacturing
- Respond quickly to supplier quality issues, escalating as needed
- Ensure Tier 1 suppliers are effectively using capable Tier 2 suppliers
- Align cross-functional teams and suppliers on outstanding technical issues
- Work with suppliers to optimize processes, reduce costs, and implement lean manufacturing principles
- Develop and manage project milestones in line with product development and commercialization needs
- Perform supplier risk and capacity assessments and implement corrective actions
- Audit suppliers for technical capabilities and quality compliance
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Scientific field with 4 years of experience, or
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Scientific field with 3 years of experience
- Onsite work required
- Up to 20% domestic/international travel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with statistical tools(SPC, Six Sigma, DMAIC, etc.)
- Experience in catheter manufacturing technology for cardiovascular, endovascular, minimally invasive endoscopy, or implantable devices
- CAD experience ( ProE / SolidWorks)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including conflict and relationship management
