Pay:$32-37/hr (W2)



Our client is a leading global medical technology company specializing in structural heart disease and critical care innovations. They are seeking a hands-on Senior Technician to support engineering activities in their R&D lab. This onsite role requires experience testing equipment, performing equipment troubleshooting and qualification, with opportunities for growth in R&D.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Support engineering activities including test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly
  • Operate lab equipment including set-up, clean-up, break-down, and re-assembly
  • Perform equipment maintenance (PM, calibration and services)
  • Collect, document, and analyze test data
  • Perform operational testing, identify failure modes, and propose technical solutions
  • Perform test method validation for equipment and product designs
  • Train and guide lower level employees on procedures and provide feedback to engineers
  • Build prototypes and prepare feasibility test units, samples, and/or chemical solutions
  • Design and build simple fixtures using sketches, CAD, etc.
  • Create and modify drawings and procedures for fixtures, equipment, products, or processes
  • Initiate ECRs via Windchill

Education and Experience

  • Associate's Degree or technical degree/certificate with 4 years R&D Lab and/or medical device experience, OR
  • 6 years related experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Problem solving methodology, root cause analysis, and Good Documentation Practices
  • Computer skills including MS Office Suite and CAD
  • Full understanding of equipment in a lab environment and ability to perform complex troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and understand procedures, drawings, schematics and carry out assembly instructions
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and procedures
  • Ability to draft technical documents
  • Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines for lab/clean room medical device manufacturing
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Ability to work in an inter-departmental team environment
