Summary
We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our compound management team. This person will be focused on executing and establishing the processes that will ensure most critical materials are stored, tracked, and available for use by our scientists.
This is a great opportunity for someone to contribute to the company's mission while gaining a wide array of practical experience. This role will collaborate closely with engineers in our automation and software teams, and with research scientists. Responsibilities
- Receive samples from internal and external suppliers, register those samples in inventory and tracking databases
- Execute automated and manual delivery of samples to ensure timely delivery to internal and external scientists for experiments
- Ensure that digital records are accurate and synchronized with the physical storage systems
- Use automated liquid handling equipment to solubilize, dilute, and aliquot samples for analysis by other labs
- Follow best practices and procedures for the above processes so that Compound Management is an efficient and reliable function
Qualifications
- BS/MS in science or engineering discipline, minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience with python, VBA or other programming languages for file handling and data manipulation
- Hands-on experience with commercial liquid handling systems (e.g. Hamilton Vantage, Agilent Bravo, or similar liquid handling platforms)
- Detail-oriented and organized are critically important characteristics for this position
- Must be able to occasionally move and life objects of up to 30lbs
