Automation Engineer
Overview
The Automation Engineer will play a key role in supporting aseptic fill-finish manufacturing operations by overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems. This role ensures reliable performance across production lines ranging from semi-automated equipment to fully robotic filling systems. Responsibilities also extend to facility and utility automation, including building systems, SCADA platforms, and data integration tools. The position reports to the Director of Engineering & Facilities.
Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and optimize automated process equipment and utilities

Lead or support CAPA, CC, and SOP activities related to automation systems

Design, upgrade, and specify automation and control systems for new and existing equipment

Manage automation projects from concept through validation and implementation

Administer PCS, BAS, and Vaisala systems and coordinate with IT on networking and data management

Develop technical documentation including specifications, URS, and validation deliverables

Conduct data integrity assessments, impact analyses, and risk evaluations for automated systems
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 4+ years of automation experience, or equivalent hands-on background (8+ years)

Knowledge of automation validation principles and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance

Experience with network integration, configuration, and system troubleshooting

Preferred experience with Vaisala, Wonderware, SQL, and Allen Bradley platforms
