Position Summary
Our client, a major utility provider in Southern California, is looking to fill three Cashier openings on a 2-year contract basis, one each in Oxnard, Santa Barbara, and Van Nuys, all reporting to the same hiring manager. This part-time, onsite role runs 20–40 hours per week and calls for strong customer service experience, proficient communication skills, and accuracy handling cash. The process includes one round of interviews, and this role does not offer conversion to full-time employment. All equipment is provided by the client. This requisition closes Thursday end of day.
Key Responsibilities
- Carries out duties in line with company guidelines and established safety procedures
- Receives payment by cash, check, or money order for services and/or product purchases
- Uses company software and hardware to access customer account data
- Reconciles cash and checks on hand against system totals and prepares funds for deposit
- Responds to basic customer questions about payments and general company programs
- Directs customers to CCR/telephone support for service requests, high-bill inquiries, and other CSR/CCR matters
- Secures all operating and collected funds
- Completes various monthly clerical office tasks
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required
- 0–2 years of experience in customer service
