Commissioning Manager – Analytics (Battery Energy Storage Systems)
Worked with a leading global Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) developer
as a Commissioning Manager – Analytics, responsible for the startup, commissioning, and performance validation of Battery Energy Storage and Solar-coupled power systems.
Acted as the Owner’s Representative
overseeing commissioning activities, compliance, safety, reporting, and system performance testing. Coordinated with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful plant startup and adherence to grid and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Participated in site safety programs, audits, and compliance activities.
- Supported Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) testing with customers.
- Supported Generation Interconnection Agreement (GIA) testing to facilitate ISO validation and grid compliance.
- Managed test energy forecasting and coordination with customers during commissioning activities.
- Coordinated with ICCP, IT, and SCADA teams to perform functional checks and system validation.
- Collaborated with SCADA integrators and project managers to develop commissioning schedules aligned with mechanical completion milestones.
- Executed Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) in coordination with system integrators and commissioning leadership.
- Supported critical point checkout procedures, including ROCC alarm verification and PGD validation.
- Performed OEM commissioning tests and system validation activities.
- Conducted plant balancing and system tuning to optimize operational performance.
- Performed capacity testing and performance verification for BESS assets.
- Coordinated AVR and AGC notification and testing support with grid operators.
- Analyzed operational and performance data to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

Preferred Background
- Engineering or professional electrical background in power systems construction and commissioning
- Experience commissioning ≥100 MWh of energy storage capacity or ≥5 BESS projects
- Prior experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Experience with SCADA integration and controls preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to distinguish color-coded HMI controls
- Capability to work with extended screen time and desk-based tasks
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle for travel between project locations
