Position Summary
The Project Manager
will oversee all phases of field execution for large-scale renewable energy construction projects, with budgets ranging from $200 million to $1.5 billion. This role is responsible for managing resources, budgets, schedules, safety, and quality across multidisciplinary teams. The position also serves as the primary company representative with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies during project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of project execution, from pre-construction turnover to final commissioning and operations readiness.
- Oversee field activities, including staffing, safety, quality assurance, and schedule adherence.
- Manage cost and performance to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Engineering & Design Oversight
- Coordinate with engineering teams to review and approve designs, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Ensure designs align with project requirements and support constructability and efficiency.
Permitting & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and quality regulations.
- Act as the company liaison with regulatory agencies, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
Procurement & Contract Administration
- Oversee vendor and contractor selection, procurement schedules, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Approve payments and change orders within defined authorization limits.
Financial & Risk Management
- Develop and maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial performance reports.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring adherence to company and regulatory standards.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead project meetings, status updates, and milestone reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate project performance metrics, risks, and mitigations to senior leadership.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline required.
- 5+ years of experience in large-scale renewable energy or infrastructure project management.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar projects and cross-functional teams.
- PMP certification preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of renewable energy systems, including solar PV and battery storage.
- Knowledge of power systems, grid interconnection, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in project management and scheduling software.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
