Job Responsibilities:

In this role, you will support a variety of tasks related to electronics assembly, rework, and testing in a fast-paced engineering environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving and shipping of packages to and from the electronics lab.
  • Managing material inventory and kitting of parts for assembly and/or rework.
  • Performing PCBA modifications including component rework, soldering/de-soldering of electronic components, and blue wire modifications per IPC-610 Class 3 standards.
  • Building wire harnesses to IPC/WHMA A-620C standards.
  • Assembling and/or setting up custom test equipment per engineering diagrams/specifications.
  • Conducting functional testing of electronic circuit assemblies and engineering prototypes.
  • Performing unit-level assembly of ECU modules following engineering drawings/specifications.
  • Documenting and maintaining accurate records of test results and updating procedures as required.
  • Troubleshooting and identifying root causes of failures in circuit assemblies.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

  • Execute precise soldering and rework, particularly with fine pitch components (e.g., ICs and 0402-sized parts).
  • Build and troubleshoot wire harnesses and PCBA assemblies to meet quality and performance requirements.
  • Support engineering teams with custom equipment setup, debugging, and prototype testing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized lab environment, ensuring inventory and tool control.
  • Provide technical feedback and suggest improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency of lab operations.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with soldering fine pitch components directly on circuit board assemblies.
  • Strong understanding of basic electrical concepts.
  • Experience using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and electronic loads.
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar task management tools is a plus.
  • Basic Python scripting is a plus.
  • IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC-7711, IPC-7721, or J-STD-001 certifications are a plus.

Education & Experience:

  • 2+ years of technician-level experience in electronics or engineering lab environments.
  • Associate degree in Technology or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience in electric vehicle or automotive electronics is a strong plus.
