Engineer I (Renewable Energy)

Responsible for supporting and executing engineering assignments ranging from routine tasks to more complex projects requiring coordination across multiple technical disciplines. The role operates under varying levels of supervision based on experience, with increasing independence as proficiency grows. Responsibilities include assisting with project management, tracking performance metrics, coordinating technical activities, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
This position supports engineering efforts related to utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and power generation facilities, and may serve as an extension of the core engineering team to ensure designs, construction, and operations meet project specifications, safety requirements, and long-term reliability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering analysis, interpret data, and prepare technical documentation and reports.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and project team members.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating engineering and construction projects.
- Prepare job cost estimates, technical drawings/details, required forms, and project documentation for construction and maintenance activities.
- Support project tracking, reporting, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in technical reviews, decision-making, and problem resolution.
- Support onboarding of new project sites, including both technical setup and administrative coordination.
- Promote and maintain a safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
- Develop working knowledge of company engineering standards, project processes, and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
- 0–5 years of experience in engineering, engineering analysis, or technical project support.
- Experience or exposure to renewable energy technologies such as solar, energy storage, or power generation preferred.
- Familiarity with controls systems and/or alarm management is a plus.
- Understanding of quality principles (Six Sigma or similar methodologies preferred).
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
