Engineer I – Facility Ratings Compliance

Position Summary
We are seeking an Engineer I to support a FAC-008 Facility Ratings compliance program across a diverse portfolio of energy infrastructure assets, including transmission, substations, solar, wind and battery energy storage facilities.
The Engineer I will review and validate Facility Ratings reports to help ensure technical accuracy, completeness and alignment with established methodologies and compliance requirements. This position will collaborate with project teams, engineers, consultants, Engineers of Record (EORs) and power generation personnel to support the timely completion of compliance deliverables.
Key Responsibilities

Review and validate FAC-008 Facility Ratings reports for transmission, substation, solar, wind, battery energy storage and other Bulk Electric System (BES) facilities.

Develop a working knowledge of Facility Ratings methodologies and applicable compliance requirements.

Analyze engineering reports, technical documentation and supporting calculations to ensure consistency with established methodologies.

Track report progress, key milestones, outstanding actions and performance metrics.

Utilize Microsoft applications including Excel, Access, Word and OneNote to support tracking and reporting activities.

Collaborate with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Engineers of Record, consultants and Power Generation personnel to facilitate timely report completion.

Support weekly Facility Ratings status meetings and provide updates on review progress, outstanding actions and potential schedule risks.

Identify data gaps, inconsistencies and technical issues and coordinate their resolution with relevant stakeholders.

Support compliance-driven initiatives and additional projects to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Assist with the development and maintenance of tracking tools, dashboards and reporting metrics related to Facility Ratings compliance.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple reports, deadlines and priorities.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with substation design, engineering or operation of high-voltage transmission and substation facilities.

Familiarity with NERC reliability standards, FAC-008 requirements or utility compliance programs.

Experience reviewing engineering studies, calculations or technical reports.

Knowledge of utility-scale renewable generation facilities, battery energy storage systems (BESS), transmission systems or substations.
