ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER
Hydrogen Group is hiring on behalf of a confidential client, a nationally established electrical construction and engineering services organization supporting complex industrial and commercial projects. We are seeking an Engineering Project Manager to oversee digital project delivery, constructability, and electrical design coordination for complex construction projects. This position will serve as a key connection point between engineering, BIM/VDC, prefabrication, and field operations, ensuring designs and models are practical, coordinated, and ready for installation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical leadership for electrical projects involving plan/specification work, design-assist, and design-build delivery.
- Oversee the development and coordination of electrical designs and models, including power distribution, one-line diagrams, lighting, controls, and equipment layouts, while ensuring compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Use AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks to develop coordinated, construction-ready drawings and models. Lead BIM coordination efforts with other trades and identify potential clashes before they impact field installation.
- Conduct constructability reviews and identify potential installation challenges, access limitations, sequencing issues, and productivity concerns during the design phase.
- Work with field operations and prefabrication teams to incorporate modularization, fabrication, and labor-efficiency considerations into design and modeling processes.
- Assist with value engineering efforts by identifying practical, cost-conscious design alternatives while maintaining project performance, safety, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Estimating, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure engineering and BIM deliverables support project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, and construction sequencing.
- Lead, mentor, and develop BIM Engineers, Designers, and VDC personnel, including workload allocation, technical development, and performance support.
- Establish and maintain consistent modeling standards, coordination procedures, and quality-control practices across projects.
- Participate in design reviews, coordination sessions, and client meetings, providing technical guidance throughout both preconstruction and project execution.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical construction.
- 5+ years of experience supporting electrical construction projects within BIM, VDC, engineering, or design-build environments.
- Demonstrated experience with constructability-focused modeling and coordination between design and field teams.
- Previous experience leading technical personnel or managing direct reports.
- PE License preferred, but not required.
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.

Reports to the Director of Engineering & Prefabrication.
