Position Summary
Our client, a leading utility company in the San Diego area, is seeking a Project Coordinator II to support their Gas Operations Team. This role provides project management and timekeeping support to the Director and broader organization (70–80 staff), sharing responsibilities with a second Project Coordinator. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and team player with prior experience supporting operational processes; a construction background is helpful but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide project manager support and assistance in scheduling meetings, documentation, and training
- Update and maintain project documents and the project plan
- Issue work for construction crews and internal/external contractors
- Manage calendar and scheduling for the Director
- Issue street repair work and follow up on permitting
- Close out service orders and print submissions
- Track project progress and assist with information collection and validation
- Help prepare status reports and presentations
- Conduct contractor meetings and perform timekeeping for up to 70–80 staff
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; some college or a bachelor's degree preferred
- Prior experience supporting business processes
- Construction background helpful but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including running meetings and communicating with vendors
- Strong knowledge of MS Project, Visio, Excel, and Word
- Team player with a track record of supporting cross-functional processes
