Infrastructure Project Manager

Normal, IL or Atlanta, GA (Hybrid, 3 days per week on-site)

Duration: 5-month contract

Schedule: M- F (up to every other weekend (Saturday and/or Sunday), but still no more than 40 hrs/week)

Pay:$75-81/hr




We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Program Manager to lead large-scale programs supporting manufacturing facilities, data centers, and enterprise infrastructure initiatives. This role involves planning, executing, and delivering critical infrastructure projects that integrate operational technology (OT) with enterprise IT systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and production schedules.




Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that align with organizational objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver infrastructure programs, bridging technical discussions between manufacturing, engineering, SMEs, and senior leadership.
  • Define program charters, roles, tasks, milestones, budgets, and success metrics for each initiative.
  • Develop detailed plans to manage end-to-end program execution, ensuring adherence to production schedules and deployment windows.
  • Accurately capture and translate manufacturing and business requirements into actionable program plans.
  • Facilitate cross-functional sessions for planning, alignment, and design across teams, including engineering, network, SRE/DevOps, facilities, and design groups.
  • Apply disciplined project management methodologies to define scope, manage sub-projects, and deliver programs within budget and schedule.
  • Identify and solve challenges using critical thinking and independent decision-making.
  • Develop comprehensive program risk management plans to ensure timely delivery, testing, and commissioning of all projects without impacting business continuity.

Top Mandatory Skills / Qualifications:

  • Experience collaborating with General Contractors and Facilities teams during construction implementations for manufacturing buildings, data center build-outs, or related expansions.
  • Strong knowledge of structured cabling, Division 27 standards, AV standards, and telecom/construction drawings in office and industrial environments.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise server, data, and backup solution implementations and refreshes (e.g., data centers, NAS, backup, disaster recovery, server patching, Active Directory, and OS upgrades) within controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing principles, migration strategies, and hands-on deployment experience in at least one major provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Expertise in implementing and refreshing enterprise network solutions, including multi-site connectivity, factory LAN/WLAN, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating technical requirements to business stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, and Google Suite tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional IT infrastructure projects, preferably within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale infrastructure implementations integrating plant floor systems (OT) with enterprise IT.
